Y’all. I’ve been feeling lately that I’m getting a bit, um, stale when it comes to this blog. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not finding good material to write about, or if I’m bored with the layout. WordPress-hosted blogs are a bit limiting – sure, it’s free, but all the cool kids have fun blog bling, like nifty badges, audio widgets and flexible layouts, that I can’t use here.
Switching to the WordPress software and hosting it elsewhere seemed too complicated for me. But I think I’ve come upon a solution: Typepad.
I’ve started a blog over there, and here’s my first entry. I’m still messing around with formatting, just trying it on for size, tinkering here and there. I don’t plan on migrating everything that’s here over there, but eventually, if I end up liking it, I’ll map my main URL to that blog. Till then, and beyond, this blog stays, and I’ll post links here for a few weeks of the posts I put up over there.
I would very much appreciate your feedback – hop over to the new site and tell me what you think. Is it readable? Easily navigated? Entirely offensive? Keep it real, I can take it. But I won’t know unless you tell me.
I truly appreciate everyone who comes to read my random musings, more than you know. I want to make sure it’s still engaging to you, but if it isn’t engaging to me, that’s kind of a showstopper. You know what they say – if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.
Must be all them full moons last week …to quote my friend from Finland for whom English is a second or third language, I am bored SOLID with my own blog, so I totally identify with what you are saying.
Just so you know, your blog is not ever boring to me. In fact I admire your willingness to take on topics that are bound to be controversial such as Hooters and chicken wings and what not. Also, the fact that you think Harry Connick is not married to me and is married to you is always entertaining.
Anyway, I tried to link to the new digs, but my dial-up is preventing a speedy visit. If I try again at o’dark-thirty in the morning it will probably work better.
